Essitol Tablets

Essitol® is traditionally used as a mild drug for bruises, contusions, sprains, swelling, bruising, minor skin injuries, insect bites. This information is based solely on tradition and many years of experience. If symptoms occur, a doctor should be consulted.

DOSAGE INSTRUCTIONS AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
Crush 1-2 tablets in a glass of cold water with a spoon and dissolve, stirring several times. Only use the solution for envelopes. It is advisable to renew the envelopes several times a day.

Essitol® is a traditional medicine.
Area of application ESSITOL, bruises, contusion, sprain, swell, swelling:
Essitol® is traditionally used as a mild drug for bruises and sprains and as a mild drug for excessive sweating.
Essitol® solution should not be used if you have previously had a hypersensitivity reaction to aluminum acetate preparations or any other ingredient in the drug.
The solution should not be applied to open wounds.
Special care is required when using Essitol®:
The tablets must be dissolved and diluted before use as described in the dosage instructions.
If the symptoms of sprains and bruises last longer than 1 week, a doctor should be consulted. Do not bring Essitol® into contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
Children:
There are insufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children. Therefore, Essitol® should not be used in children under the age of twelve.
Using Essitol® with other medicines:
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
Interactions may occur if other external products are used at the same time. Please note that this information may also apply to medicines you have used recently.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine. There are no data on the use of Essitol® in pregnant women and breastfeeding women, so its use is not recommended. In any case, it should not be used in the breast area while breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines:
No special precautions are necessary.
Always use Essitol® exactly as directed in this leaflet. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
For compresses and cooling bandages for bruises and sprains, please take 1-2 tablets and dissolve them in a glass of lukewarm water (approx. 100 or 200 ml). With the resulting solution soak the poultice. Do not let the envelope dry out and change it after two hours at the latest.
To reduce excessive perspiration, please take 1-2 tablets and dissolve them in a glass (approx. 20 or 40 ml) with lukewarm water. Then brush or dab the affected areas of skin with this solution.
Method of application ESSITOL, bruises, contusion, sprain, swell, swelling:
Essitol® tablets are intended exclusively for the preparation of a solution for external use as described above and must not be ingested.
Duration of use ESSITOL, bruises, contusion, sprain, swell, swelling:
Poultices with a diluted solution should only be used until the acute bruise and sprain symptoms have subsided. If the symptoms of bruises and sprains last longer than 1 week, a doctor should be consulted.
Brushing or dabbing solutions made with Essitol® for excessive perspiration can be used long-term.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Essitol® is too strong or too weak.
If you use more Essitol® than you should:
If you use insufficiently diluted solutions or if you use compresses for a long time, especially in an airtight environment, there is a risk of skin damage, possibly severe tissue damage.
If you forget to use Essitol®:
Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Please continue the treatment as soon as possible as described in the dosage instructions.
If you stop using Essitol®:
Essitol® will only be used when needed.
If you have any further questions on the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, Essitol® can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The evaluation of side effects is based on the following frequency information:

Possible side effects
If insufficiently diluted solutions are used or if compresses are used over a long period of time, particularly in the absence of air, there is a risk of skin damage, possibly even serious tissue damage.
In very rare cases, general, mild, non-specific symptoms such as a temporary burning sensation on the skin, local irritation, local allergic reactions (contact dermatitis) and hearing damage (ototoxicity) may occur. At the first signs of skin changes or a hypersensitivity reaction, treatment with Essitol® should be stopped immediately and a doctor consulted.

Store drug out of reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date, which is stated on the carton after “Use by”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Storage conditions
Do not store above 25ºC.
What Essitol® contains:
The active substance is: 1 tablet contains 1.0 g aluminum acetate tartrate equivalent to 128 mg aluminum ions.
The other ingredients are:
macrogol 20000, macrogol 6000, croscarmellose sodium, hydrogenated castor oil, colloidal anhydrous silica.
What Essitol® looks like and contents of the pack
Essitol® is a white tablet and is supplied in PVC and aluminum blisters in cartons of 10 tablets.

Essitol® tablets can be dissolved and used without any problems and are kind to the skin. The solution to be applied externally is used on the basis of many years of experience with bruises and sprains and has proven itself wherever the injuries mentioned are to be expected, such as e.g. B. when hiking, mountaineering, camping, hunting and fishing or other sporting activities.
Due to their handy pack size, Essitol® tablets can be conveniently carried in your luggage.
